Obituary of Milton J. Polous
Milton J. Polous, 83, passed beyond the veil July 7, 2018.
A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held 5:00PM Friday July 13, 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Colfax. A Graveside Service with full military honors will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C.
A native of McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, Milt was the son of the late Kathryn Thomas and James Anthony Polous. In addition to his parents, he also was preceded in death by his sisters Martha Georges and Georgia Polous; brother Thomas Georges; God parents Milton and Ethel Paxinos; and brother-in-law John Vojtecky.
Milt served his country for thirty-one years with the United States Air Force during both the Korean War and Vietnam War. He would also work as a Police Officer in California and later served with the Department of Defense.
Milt had served his church as a Bishop and several other positions within the church. He was an avid researcher and focused on WWII history. He loved history as well as other cultures and languages.
Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years Sandy Polous of the home; daughters Anastasia
Faust and Michael of Sudlersville, MD, and Atalanta Shabloski and Jay of Wellsboro, PA; sons Andreas Polous of Fort Collins, CO, and Adrianos Polous and Jennifer of Panama City, FL; sixteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sisters Gloria DeMartino and Tony, and Tina Vojtecky; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
