Obituary of William Harmon III
William “Bill” Harmon III, 65, passed away Sunday July 15, 2018. A gathering of Family and Friends will be held Wednesday July 18, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Services Chapel.
Bill was born November 7, 1952 to the late William Harmon, Jr and Rosetta Van Dyke Harmon in Richlands, Virginia. The family moved to Largo, Florida when Bill was a young child. He was in the 1971 graduating class from Largo High School. After graduation he was drafted into the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. When he returned from his military service he meet the love of his life, Darla Morrow, and they were married in 1976. Bill owned a company in Florida that specialized in Screen Room Designs and installation. Bill and Darla moved their family to Kernersville, North Carolina in 1996. He then worked for QMF Solutions as a Team Coordinator in Manufacturing.
Bill’s favorite things include fishing, outdoor activities, and telling wild stories, but his family was the thing that he enjoyed the most. Other than Husband or Dad, the title that held the most meaning to Bill was Pappaw for his four grandchildren.
Survivors include, his wife of 42 years, Darla Harmon of the home; daughter, Kristy Blake and Matthew; son, Cole Harmon and Chelsea; grandchildren; Danielle Blake, Becca Blake, Colton Harmon, and Grayson Harmon; sisters, Connie Royer and Sandy Sparks; brother, Bob Harmon and Debbie; and many extended family and friends.
