Obituary of Alice Nesbitt Shelton

Alice Nesbitt Shelton, 76, of Winston Salem, NC passed away peacefully at home, July 19th, 2018 with her family by her side.

Alice was born in Salisbury, NC to the late Robert Lee and Lillie Jane Nesbitt. She diligently worked as a security manager with Zayers, King and Zales for 8 years in addition to working drug related cases alongside Winston Salem PD. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Lee Nesbitt Jr and devoted husband of 49 years, Phillip Shelton.

She is survived by her sister, Dot Trexler and 5 children; Debbie Leatherman of Woodleaf, Toni Wyatt of Salisbury, Phillis Watson of Dobson, Phillip “Bobby” Shelton of Welcome, and Phillip “Phil” Shelton Jr. of Naples, Fla; along with 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 Respecting Alice’s wishes, no memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Alice’s memory to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
