Obituary of Richard Dale Batten

Richard D. Batten, 71, passed away August 3, 2018 at his home as he was surrounded by his wife and family.

Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held 11:00AM Saturday August 11, 2018 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral & Cremation Services. The family will visit with friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.

A native of Michigan, Richard was the son of the late Thelma Elaine Lucas and Edward William Batten. He was retired from General Motors Truck & Bus in Pontiac, Michigan. Most recently, he had worked with Piedmont Graphics in Greensboro, North Carolina. He was a member of First Christian Church in Kernersville.

Survivors include his loving wife of almost 50 years, Carole J. Batten of the home; daughter Amy Shihabi and Sam of Winston-Salem; son Jeremy E. Batten and Rozan of Greensboro; grandson Carter Batten; and numerous extended family and friends.
