Obituary of Gene Roosevelt Lawson
Gene Roosevelt Lawson, 81, went home to be with the Lord August 12, 2018.
Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held 2:00PM Wednesday August 15, 2018 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel with Rev. Virgil Chitty officiating. Interment will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Walkertown. The family will visit with friends from 1:00PM until time for the service on Wednesday.
A native of Stokes County, Gene was the son of the late Maddie Lou Collins and Ernest Columbus Lawson. He was married to the late Betty Jean Spillman Lawson who passed away November 24, 2017. In addition to his wife and parents, he also was preceded in death by a sister Betty Lou Bowers; brother Joseph William Lawson; and great-grandchildren Philip J. Lawson, Tyler A. Lawson, Haley, and three unnamed.
Gene had started his own plumbing company that his son and grandson now own and operate, Lawson Plumbing Company. He had served as Pastor of Middle Cross Baptist Church in Pfafftown for a number of years.
Survivors include his sons Gene E. Lawson and Mary of Kernersville, Marvin J. Lawson and Sandra of King, and Mark D. Lawson and Donna of Whitsett; grandchildren Brian Lawson and Allison, Meagan Shelton and Brad, Steven Lawson and Emily, Melanie Walters and David, Marissa Lawson, Austin Lawson, Carrissa Littlejohn, Tevin Littlejohn, and Diarra Boye; great-grandchildren Eddie, Jacob, Riley, and Ryan; special family member Ann Lawson; sister Frances Weavil of King; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
