Obituary of Walter Paglia
Walter “Wally” Paglia, 87, passed away September 10, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday September 18, 2018 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kernersville, North Carolina officiated by Father Paul Dechant, O.S.F.S. Inurnment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Church Cemetery.
Wally was born June 22, 1931 to the late Anthony Paglia and Pearl Arthurs Paglia, in Buffalo, New York. The way Wally told the story, he was born in the backseat of a taxi that was stuck in traffic due to the Circus Parade going through town. He met the love of his life, Juliann Orsi in 1961 while both were working at Sears Roebuck and Company, and married in 1962. They raised two sons and a daughter in Buffalo until they relocated to Kernersville with Service Systems as a manager. After his retirement, he continued to work at Lowes so he could play around with the tools. Wally was a long time member of Holy Cross Catholic Church where he was in the Knights of Columbus.
Wally was known for his generosity, sense of humor, and love of Buffalo Bills Football. A few of his favorite things were listening to rhythm and blues, Patsy Cline, cooking for his family, fixing up old houses, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. Wally was very devoted to his family, especially his wife.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include his loving wife, Juliann “Julie” Orsi Paglia; sons, Peter Paglia and Mary; David Paglia and Cheryl; and daughter, Elizabeth Paglia Lee; grandson, Brett Lee and granddaughters; Katherine Paglia and Lauren Paglia; as well as many extended family and friends.
