Obituary of Wayne Hughes Ellis

Wayne Hughes Ellis, 76, passed away Monday September 10, 2018 at the Hospice Home At High Point surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral & Cremation Service Chapel. Interment will follow in Reedy Fork Baptist Church Cemetery in Brown Summit. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Wayne was born in Rockingham County on January 21, 1942 to the late Emil Hughes Ellis and Mildred Olene Roberts Ellis. He worked for many years as a log truck driver and was a long-time member of Reedy Fork Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his son Terry Wayne Ellis, and sisters Jeanette Yates, Rebecca Gammons and Carolyn Manley.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Annie Faye Watson Ellis; sons Bobby Wayne Ellis and James Hughes Ellis; sisters, Linda Kay Webster, Geraline Walker and Sandra Sanchez; brothers, Milton Ellis, Randy Ellis, Leon Ellis and Jerry Ellis; 4 Grandchildren, Brandon Ellis, Amy Caulk, Wesley Ellis and Kayla Ellis; and 6 great grandchildren.
