Obituary of William A. "Bill" Stephens

William A. “Bill” Stephens, Jr., 73, passed away September 20, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be 11:00AM Monday, September 24, 2018 at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory.

Bill was born in Forsyth County August 23, 1945 to the late William Stephens Sr. and wife Margaret. In addition to his parents; he also was preceded in death by his sister, Becky Stephens Taylor.

Bill served 37 faithful years at Varco Carolina. In those years, he fulfilled several job duties and responsibilities with the company before retiring. He loved to listen to all kinds of music, the oldies was his favorite. Bill was a simple man, loved spending time with his close friends and loving family. He enjoyed many cruises with his wife and friends although recent health issues kept him from doing any traveling. Bill was a hard worker and an excellent provider. We are most proud of the fighter he was. After being diagnosed with a critical illness, he fought bravely and courageously for nine months with minimal complaints.

Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Glenda; son Donnie Stephens; daughter Lori Wiles and husband Steve; granddaughter Sarah and several extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 10:00AM until time for the service Monday at the funeral home.
