Obituary of George E. Wilhelm

George E. Wilhelm, 79, went home to be with the Lord October 10, 2018.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00AM Wednesday October 17, 2018 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father Paul Dechant, O.S.F.S. officiating. Inurnment will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will visit with friends from 9:00AM Wednesday until time for the service and in Salesian Hall of the church immediately following the inurnment service.

A native of Henderson, Kentucky, George was the son of the late Augusta C. Wolf and Walter Paul Wilhelm. In addition to his parents, he also was preceded in death by a brother Paul Wilhelm.

George was retired from Stone Container Corporation. He was a longtime member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. He also was a member of the Kernersville YMCA.

Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Sue Wilhelm of the home; children Susie Bryson and Brett of Quincy, Illinois, George Wilhelm, II and Darla of Henderson, Kentucky, Kathy Gieg and Ken of St. Louis, Missouri, Stephen Wilhelm and Tamara of Evansville, Indiana, Steven Utterback and Laura of Kernersville, North Carolina, Kirk Wilhelm and Amy of Largo, Florida, and Jenny Bowman and Arnie of Kernersville, North Carolina; fifteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; brother David Wilhelm and Diane of Alabama; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
