Obituary of Michael W Warren

Michael W. Warren, 68, passed away and joined his wife in Heaven on October 24, 2018.  Funeral Services celebrating his life will be 3:00 P.M. Saturday October 27, 2018 at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Service Chapel in Kernersville, NC.  Commital Service will follow at Mt. Gur Cemetery in Kernersville, NC.

Michael was born January 24, 1950 in North Wilkesboro to Dolores Jackson Warren and the late Clyde Winfield Warren.  He graduated from East Yancey High School in 1968, and then continued his schooling at Western Carolina University.  He went on to work for Varco-Pruden, where he worked for 43 years until his retirement.  He met the love of his life, Jean Holcombe Warren, in High school and was married November 1, 1970.  They raised their son and daughter in Kernersville.

Michael was an avid woodworker, guitarist, and tennis player.  Many of the gifts for family and friends were handmade in his woodworking shop.  Michael enjoyed spending time with his family, taking in stray dogs and cats, and being with his grandchildren.  

He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Jean Holcombe Warren, and his father Clyde Winfield Warren.  Survivors include; mother, Dolores Jackson Warren; daughter, Allison Warren; son, Andy Warren and Jenny; grandchildren, Xander Warren and Samantha Warren, sister, Patty Shook and Tim; brothers, Tim Warren and Judy, and Len Warren and Anita; and many extended family and friends.

The family will visit with friends from 2:00 P.M. until the time of service in the chapel.
