Obituary of Donald Charles Ratliff, III

Donald Charles Ratliff, III, 65, passed away in his sleep after a long and fulfilling life, November 18, 2018.

A Celebration of his life will be held at a later date in San Angelo, Texas.

A native of Texas, Don was the son of the late Faye Perdue and Donald Charles Ratliff, Jr. He was a graduate of San Angelo Central High School. He later served his country with the United States Air Force for six years. After his military service, Don would continue his education at San Angelo State University and graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics.

Don worked for Hirschfeld Steel for eight years in San Angelo, Texas. He left the Steel Industry and would retire from Texas Department of Transportation after serving as an Inspector. Then he rejoined the Steel Industry working with Hirschfeld Industries in Greensboro, North Carolina where he served as a Project Coordinator until his death. 

Survivors include his loving wife of twenty-one years, Rebecca Rawls Ratliff of the home; daughter Sarah Duerstine-Calvert and Stacia of Smyrna, Tennessee; sons Clint Rawls and Brandon Rawls both of Texas; grandchildren Thomas Duerstine and Scarlett Rawls; and the sister he never had, Melissa McCollough and husband Brian.
