Obituary of Marjorie Horton Brigance

Marjorie Horton Brigance, 81, went home to be with her Lord December 24, 2018 due to injuries sustained from an automobile accident.  

Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held 7:00PM Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Faith Church with Pastor Allen Byerly officiating. The family will receive friends 6:00PM until time for the service at the church. Interment will be 10:00AM Thursday, January 3, 2018 at Salisbury National Cemetery.

Marjorie was born in Jacksonville, Florida on February 14, 1937 to the late Jacob Horton and Virue Johnson Horton. After graduating from Andrew Jackson High School, she met the love of her life, Donald Brigance, and soon after they were married July 5, 1955. During her husband’s time in the military, Marjorie enjoyed traveling and living all around the world. She loved the Lord and attended Faith Church in Kernersville, North Carolina. She was very involved with her church and enjoyed the company of her many friends. She loved to crochet and has made numerous baby blankets and afghans throughout the years.

In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her loving husband Donald, infant daughter Madonna, brothers John and Solomon Horton, and sister Louise Baldwin.

Those left to cherish her memory are son Donald Brigance Jr. and Melissa of Kernersville, North Carolina; sister Emily Horton Cail of Jacksonville Florida; nieces Brenda Gillum and Larry of Longmont, Colorado; Donna Cantrell and Chris of Wise, Virginia; and Emily Sue Knight and Chris of Jacksonville, Florida; along with extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Shepherds Center of Kernersville Home, 431 W Bodenhamer St. B, Kernersville, NC 27284.
