Obituary of Ruby Covington Stanley
Ruby Covington Stanley, 99, passed away January 8, 2019 at the Hospice Home at High Point.
Funeral Services celebrating her life will be 11:00 AM Tuesday January 15, 2019 at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel. Interment will follow at Shady Grove Wesleyan Church Cemetery.
Ruby was born on August 15, 1919 to the late Pearl Easter Covington and Flay Covington in Guilford County. She was a lifelong resident of Guilford County. Ruby worked at Colfax Elementary School for 16 years and was a member of Fair Grove United Methodist Church. Ruby’s joys in life included being with her friends and family, and gardening.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James “Hugh” Stanley; sisters, Nonnie Smith, Ersie Johnson, Daisy Shelton, and Joy Paschal; and brothers, James Covington, and Tom Covington.
Survivors include; son, Bobby Stanley and Cindy; granddaughter, Cherry Neal and Jimmy; grandson, Barry Stanley and Tammy; great-grandchildren, Jerimiah Neal and Stephanie, Seth Neal and Lauren, Cameron Stanley and fiancée Mitch Morrow, Corey Stanley, and Kacie Idol; great-great-grandchildren, Sophia, Isabella, Zoey, Waylon, and Ruby Mae; sisters, Betty Gibson, Shirley Bame, Mary Johnson, and Bonnie Paschal, and many extended family and friends.
The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Home at High Point. The family would like to say a special thank you to the entire staff at Hospice Home at High Point.
