Obituary of Eleanor J. Cole

Eleanor J. Cole, 94, of Kernersville passed away peacefully Tuesday July 16, 2019.

Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held 2:00PM Monday July 22, 2019 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Rob Decker officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.

A native of New Jersey, Eleanor was the wife of the late Frank Cole and the daughter of the late, Carl W. Johnson and Esther Lindgren Johnson. After receiving her Master’s Degree and working towards her Doctorate, Eleanor worked for the New Jersey State Department of Education. In later years, she and her husband and children started Wondervue Orchards, Lebanon, New Jersey.

Survivors include her daughter, Judy Cole of Newark, NJ; son, David Cole and Penny Walter of Shoshoni, WY; nieces, Karen Hall of Kernersville, and Beth Santangelo of Kernersville; nephews, Rick Johnson of New Jersey, and Jeffery Johnson of Connecticut; great nephew, Wesley Santangelo; and great niece, Christy Santangelo.

In addition to her husband and parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Johnson; and sister, Ruth Johnson Beckwith.
