Obituary of Betty Stewart Rumley

Betty Stewart Rumley, 84, passed away peacefully Saturday August 3, 2019.

Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held 12:00PM Tuesday August 6, 2019 at Kernersville Friends Meeting with Dr. Jerry Gibbons and Pastor Jeff Barnes officiating. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory.

A native of Kernersville, NC, Betty was the wife of 61 years to Robert Rumley and the daughter of the late, Coy Russell Stewart and Annie Lamar Stewart. She retired from the Forsyth County School System with over 21 years of service. Betty was a faithful member of Kernersville Friends Meeting for over 40 years.

Survivors include her husband, Robert of the home; sons, Robbie Rumley and wife, Crystal of Julian, NC, and Keith Rumley of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, Meghan Rumley, and Taylor Rumley; and step-grandson, Chance Overby.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brothers, Bobby Stewart, and Jimmy Stewart.

The family will greet friends 11:00AM to 12:00PM Tuesday at the church.
