Celebrating the Life of Nancy Fay Young

August 30, 1929 – August 4, 2019

Nancy Fay Young, 89, of Kernersville, North Carolina, peacefully completed her earthly pilgrimage on Sunday August 4, 2019.

Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held 1:00PM Saturday August 17, 2019 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Service Chapel with military honors to follow. Interment will be 11:00AM Monday August 19, 2019 at Salisbury National Cemetery.

Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Nancy was the daughter of the late Carroll Weeks Horner and Ruth Saxe Horner. She was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Nancy loved her family and her country. She actively supported the work of first responders and charitable causes in the community. She was an avid sports enthusiast and especially enjoyed cheering the Washington Redskins. Nancy delighted in sewing. She was extremely creative and shared her gift for crafting with others. She took pleasure in gardening, reading, playing cards and games, making puzzles, a daily cup of McDonald’s coffee in the morning, and an ice cream treat each afternoon.

Survivors include her daughters, Nancy Alexander of Gilbert, Arizona, and Audrey Johnson and husband, DeVante of Kernersville, North Carolina; sons, Ty Young and wife, Sally of Mandan, North Dakota, Steven Young and wife, Jody of Germantown, Maryland, Bryan Young and wife, Shelly of Winter Garden, Florida, and Collin Young and wife, Donna of Maysville, North Carolina; many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren; and former husband and father of their children, Thomas Young of Lady Lake, Florida.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her sisters, Ann Martin, Carolyn Horner, and Myrna Morgan.
