Obituary of James A. "Pete" Melton

James A. “Pete” Melton, 93, of Kernersville, NC passed away peacefully Monday September 9, 2019.

Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held 11:00AM Wednesday September 11, 2019 in the Eastlawn Gardens of Memory Mausoleum Chapel. The family will greet friends following the service at Eastlawn.

A native of Kernersville, Pete was the husband of the late, Evella Edwards Melton and the son of the late, John Franklin Melton and Mary Perry Melton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII. Pete was a member of Main Street Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Survivors include his son, Danny Melton of Kernersville, NC; and grandson, James Brady Melton and wife, Annie of Walkertown, NC.

In addition to his wife and parents, James was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Lee Melton and William Carson Melton.
