First, I am sorry to learn that Donald has passed away. My memories are when he was younger in life and when we would visit Ruby and Van (Donald mom and dad) near Siler City N.C. . Donald was six to seven years older than me but his sisters and I would cut up until Uncle Van, my Grandfather Burton Andrew (Van brother) or my mother Felecia Andrew Beavers (Burton daughter) would have us to calm down. Felecia (husband Cecil Beavers of Siler.City) was his first cousin and I was his second cousin. It goes to show how families go their way and we lose track of our families. From the obit, he had a full family that honors him in his life. I understand their pain as family leave us. Grand father Burton left 8/01/1981, his wife Eula (grandmother) 05/11/1980 and their daughter Felecia 11/30/2013. Burton’s son, my uncle Earl is not in good health. As family members leave us, pieces or memories of our past are lost with them. He will be remember and we will see him in heaven. I am sorry for everyone lost. ////Charles L. I worked with Don 20-some years ago. He was one of the nicest people I ever met and was so easy to work with. He was kind to everyone and had a gentle since of humor that I really enjoyed. He loved his family and spoke of Craig and Tim often. He was a kind soul who will be missed by anyone who knew him.

I worked with Don at Western Electric, and knew him outside work, too.
He was a good friend, and one of the finest men I have ever met.
David Arey’s tribute is a good example of how everyone felt about Don.
My condolences to his family; he will be remembered and honored by many.

Tim, Alison and family:
Tim I am so sorry for your loss of your father. Although I never met your dad, judging from knowing you, he must have been a very loving, caring, and thoughtful man and an awesome dad! My love and prayers are with you and I know your dad is at peace.

Tim, Craig, Cindy, and the rest of the family,
I am so sorry to hear of Don's passing. I know all of you will miss him greatly. I have nothing but fond memories of Don. Although I did not get to know Don until I went to work for Western Electric (way back in 1980), as soon as I met him, I remembered as a teenager seeing him at the tractor pulls in pleasant garden back in the '70s. He would come up to pull and they would say "and here's Little Donnie Andrew". We had some great times together, both at work and outside of work. Some of my memories include Don helping me move into my first house, playing softball together, going to the farm show in Raleigh most years. going to the Hillsville flea market on the Friday before labor day and helping him search for old toy tractors, and spending time together up on Big Jim's farm. But the biggest thing I remember is the love he had for his family, like going to see his mom and dad every chance he got (and making sure Tim and Craig did too), supporting his sons in everything they did, loving and caring for Cindy, and loving her girls like they were his own. I remember when one of his boys would do something he was proud of (or maybe even not so proud of occasionally) he would tell us the stories at work. And since I sat right with him, I would have to hear the same story about 20 times throughout the day, because he had to tell everyone who came by. He was so proud of his boys and he always smiled when talking about them. Don was always willing to help anyone with anything he could. He was one the best examples of what a good Christian man should be, and I have always admired him. I will always remember the times together, his smile, and his laugh.

I met Don when our sons played soccer together. We spent a lot of time together with the boys traveling in his blue Suburban to and from soccer games. We always had a lot of fun mainly because of his quick wit and funny stories! My condolences to the boys and the rest of the family.
