Obituary of Eddie "Ed" Eugene Meadows, Jr.

Mr. Eddie “Ed” Eugene Meadows, Jr, 89, of Kernersville, NC passed away on Saturday February 1, 2020.

Graveside Services celebrating his life will be held 2:30PM Monday at Mt Gur Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 1:00PM to 2:00PM Monday February 3, 2020 at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Services Kernersville, NC.

Ed was born September 28, 1930 in Bluefield, WV to Eddie Eugene Meadows, Sr. and Ocie Milan Meadows. He was a member of Meadowview Baptist Church and retired from AT&T.  In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years Annie Mae “Ann” Salmons Meadows. 

Ed is survived by his daughters, Gail DeBat and husband, Floyd of Manassas, VA, Dana Angell and husband, Everette of Winston Salem, Rhonda Church and husband, Mark of Kernersville; seven grandchildren, Nathan, Johnathan, Erin, Kirby, Danielle, Julia, and Alex; eleven great grandchildren; a brother, Ted Meadows and wife, Virginia of Asheville, NC; and a sister, Kathleen Meadows of Old Fort, NC.

Ed loved hunting, fishing, gardening, camping, and Gospel Bluegrass music. His greatest pleasures in life were his grandchildren, taking them all on their first fishing trips, and teaching them how to play guitar and banjo.
