Obituary of Margaret Teresa Welborn

Margaret Teresa Welborn, 88, passed away peacefully in the evening of November 20, 2020.

Graveside Funeral Services to celebrate her life will be held 11:00AM Tuesday November 24, 2020 at Lakeview Memorial Park in Greensboro.

A native of Augusta, Georgia, Margaret was the daughter of the late Emma Lethia Bridges and John Cooper “J C” Salters. In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her husband, John Davis Welborn, Sr.; and sons, John Davis “Davy” Welborn, Jr., and Michael Wayne Welborn, Sr.

Survivors include her daughter, Anne Jones and her husband David, of Whitsett, North Carolina; sons, Terry McElfresh and his wife Annie, of Summerfield, North Carolina, and Steven Welborn and his wife Karren, of Smyrna, Tennessee; ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; along with numerous extended family and friends.

Margaret was a woman who believed in hard work, having retired at the age of 72 from Rubbermill in Liberty, North Carolina.  She instilled her sense of hard work and honesty in all five of her children.  She was not a member of any official clubs, but she was unofficially a member of “Special Mothers.”  She was an amazing cook and a meticulous housekeeper who loved to travel and shop.  She was much beloved by her family, friends and all of the residents and staff of Twin Lakes.

Her faith was an inspiration to all who knew her.  She had served as a Sunday school teacher and always enjoyed services at Twin Lakes and The Lamb’s Chapel.  One of her favorite experiences was singing hymns, especially the old standards.  She is now with her Savior and will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

We all love you, Mom.
