Obituary of Margie Robertson Bailey

Margie Robertson Bailey, 64, of Kernersville, NC passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 20, 2022, after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s.

A native of Summerfield, NC Margie was the wife of Walter Douglas “Doug” Bailey and the daughter of C. Norman Robertson and Mable Howerton Robertson, both deceased. Margie was an energetic, out going woman, who was full of life and devoted to her husband, family and always ready to help her friends. She was a long-time employee at Purolator in Greensboro, then later in shipping at Universal Furniture in High Point, and Market America in Greensboro.

Margie volunteered for years in support of Patriot Rovers in Greensboro, who provide service and support dogs for military veterans. Her hobbies and interests included rescue dogs, her yard with her flowers and azaleas, Biltmore House, and Mickey Mouse. She was a huge Mickey Mouse fan. Margie was the kind of person who, once you got to know her, left an indelible impression. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her husband, Doug of the home; her dog and best friend, Megan; brother, Paul Clifton Robertson and his wife, Denise; two sisters, Norma Lee Middleton and her husband, Allen, and Diane Elizabeth Hold and her husband, Gerry.

In addition to her parents, Margie was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence William Robertson, and John Cleveland “J.C.” Robertson.

A celebration of life and visitation will be held from 2:00PM to 4:00PM Sunday, June 26, 2022 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Services Kernersville Chapel.

All of us in Margie’s family wish to extend the most heartfelt thanks to all the nurses, aides, doctors, and all the services of Trellis Supportive Care of Forsyth County for all their timely, caring, and knowledgeable support for Margie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Margie’s name to Trellis Supportive Care of Forsyth County, Patriot Rovers in Greensboro, or to The Oaks Therapeutic Community in Pleasant Garden.
