Obituary of Jill Peeples Roper

If you knew her, you loved her. Her gift to the world was her smile and loving heart.

Jill Peeples Roper left us suddenly on 12/18/2022 from a heart condition. The sadness and shock is overwhelming but what a life and legacy she left for us to celebrate.

She was truly a southern girl who loved music, dancing and shopping. She was the best dressed in our family and loved finding clothing deals at thrift stores.

Jill attended and graduated from East Forsyth High School. She was a long time employee of General Dynamics.

She married the love of her life, Harley G. Roper “Jr”  on July 9, 1976 and they were  inseparable until his passing in 2016. What a pair these two were and we do have joy knowing they are reunited. Jr finally has his “Baby Jill” back

Jill’s greatest legacy will be her beautiful daughters. Danielle and Amanda (James). She loved being “MawMaw Jill” to Dylan, Ally, Brinleigh and Braylen. What a joy she was in their lives.

Jill is survived by her mother, Loretta. She is also survived by her mother in law, Betty Roper; sisters in law, Sandy & Beverly (Mitch); nieces, nephews and a very special family friend, Kenneth Binkley who will never forget her love and laughter. Her father, John and brother, Chris passed in 2014.

We rejoice that Jill was baptized in 2016 and was a believer in Christ. Our Christmas’ will never be the same without her and we know you join us in our grief.

The family will greet friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Services, Kernersville, NC.

A celebration of her life will be held 2:00PM Thursday, December 22, 2022 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Services Kernersville Chapel with Dr. Pete Kunkle officiating. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory, Kernersville, NC.

From one of her favorite bands, Cowboy Mouth— the song “Everybody loves Jill” because we do. And everyone did.
