Obituary of Mary Catherine Miller

Mary Catherine “Kathryn” Miller, 90, of Greensboro passed away on March 8, 2023, at Richland Place in Greensboro.  A native of Lenoir, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Laura (Andrews) Davis and wife of the late Charlie Sturgis Miller.

Kathryn was happily married to the love of her life, Charlie, for 65 years until his death 7 years ago.   She loved being a mother, but she was especially happy to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandsons.  She worked as a hairdresser at Wesley Long Hospital and a local nursing home for over 30 years.  She enjoyed working in her yard and garden, bringing beauty to our world.  She was a long-term member of First Lutheran Church and was involved in many aspects over the years, and she truly enjoyed time with the FACEOUT group.

Kathryn is survived by her son, Greg Miller (Robyn) of Greensboro, NC, daughter, Cheryl Miller Trapp (Bob) of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren, Chip Miller, Katie Buell (Devin), and David Trapp, great-grandsons Carson and Tanner Buell;  sisters, Kay Moore and Sue Devinney; brother, Joe Davis (Shirley) and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family would like to thank Gail Ramsburg and Barbara Allman for the special care, attention, and companionship that they provided these past months.  We also want to thank the Hospice care team of Raechel, Lindsay, and Kaylen who shared much compassion with us though this challenging time.

A memorial service will be at 1pm on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at First Lutheran Church, 3600 West Friendly Ave, Greensboro, NC 27410 with Pastor Jay Hilbinger officiating.  Inurnment will be at First Lutheran Memorial Garden.  In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the First Lutheran FACEOUT fund, or to Medi Home Health and Hospice at 315 South Talbert Boulevard, Lexington NC 27292.
