Obituary of Donald Ray "Don" Bullis

Donald Ray “Don” Bullis, 80, of Burlington, NC, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.

A native of Burlington, NC, Don was the son of Harvey Cecil Bullis and Vada Roupe Bullis, both deceased. Don was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church of Burlington. He was a former Vice President/Secretary of Bullis Hosiery. Don was a Charter Member and Member of the Board of Directors of Alamance National Bank. He was on the Advisory Board of Community One/Capital Bank. Don was involved with other local businesses and was proud to be listed as one of the “Top Donors” of the Pet Adoption & Welfare Society of Alamance County (PAWS).

Don is survived by his longtime, Business Associate and Caregiver, Kenneth Ray “Kenny” Myers; his brother, Gary Bullis and his wife, Linda; his special friends, Carissa and Stephanie Walters, Ronald Medley, Woody Myers, Ray and Shirley Maness, and Kirk and Laura Bivins; his former employees; his good neighbors; and his beloved Yorkie, Sophie.

Don will be taken back to his residence at 4024 Rural Retreat Road, Burlington, NC 27215 on Thursday, November 9, 2023, where he will lie in state prior to the funeral on Monday. Friends and family are welcome to visit from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. beginning Friday, November 10, 2023, through Sunday, November 12, 2023.

Funeral services celebrating Don’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 13, 2023, at the First Presbyterian Church of Burlington with The Rev. Carrie Rhoads Tuttle officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, Burlington, NC.
