Obituary of Jim Bob Thomas

Jim Bob Thomas, 89, passed to his heavenly home on January 19th, 2024. He was born on May 28, 1934, in Amherst, TX. Jim dedicated 20 years to the U.S. Navy as a part of the UDT (SEAL) before embarking on his second career with Planters Peanuts, earning him the affectionate moniker "peanut man." His love for family was evident in cherished moments with his granddaughter, Analise, and he found joy in golf, classic cars, and sports. He is survived by his devoted wife, Jeanne Thomas; three children, Kathleen Shapley (Chuck), Patrick Thomas, and Ericka Nehnevajsa (Scott); 3 grandchildren, Laura Ray, Michael Wamsley, and Analise Nehnevajsa; and four great grandchildren. Jim’s profound love extended to his family, church, and country. He will be deeply missed and remembered fondly.

 

There will be a Celebration of Life with reception to follow at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Services Kernersville Chapel on Saturday, January 27th, 2024, at 11AM. Graveside services will be held at the Salisbury National Cemetery on Tuesday, January 30th, 2024, at 9AM.
