Obituary of Chester Allen Gravett

Chester Allen Gravett, 76, of Walkertown, NC passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.

A native of Danville, VA, Chester was the husband of 48 years to the late Margaret Macy Gravett and the son of Latell Gravett and Naomi McCardy Gravett, both deceased. Chester was retired from the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War. 

Survivors include his son, Michael Gravett of Winston-Salem; two grandchildren, Natasha Gravett, and Kimberly Gravett; nine great grandchildren, Destiny Shaw, Desiree Shaw, Demario Hall, Jr., Demario Hall, III, Namarie Hall, Kiana Jones, Nicholas Jones, Honesty Hines, and Halo Gourdine; and nephew, Shane Gravett.

In addition to his wife and parents, Chester was preceded in death by his daughter, Terri Ann Martin; granddaughter, Susan Gravett; and great grandson, Terrance Gourdine; and brother, Luther Gravett.

The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Services Kernersville Chapel. Interment will be held privately at Salisbury National Cemetery.
