Obituary of William B. "Bill" Norman

William B. “Bill” Norman, 81, of Kernersville, NC passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on Tuesday March 12, 2019.

Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held 2:00PM Saturday March 16, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church of Kernersville with Rev. John Pruitt officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons, NC.

Bill retired after 54 years from Guilford Mills where he was a supervisor and frequently traveled to London, England for oversight. After retirement, he worked for Harris-Teeter in Kernersville for the last five years and was lovingly known as “Mr. Bill”.

A native of Wilkes County, Bill was the son of the late Madgie Leona Norman. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, Wendell Norman; and step-grandson, Jake Steelman.

Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Betty Hudson Norman of the home; daughter, Patricia “Susie” Steelman and husband, Craig of Yadkinville; grandchildren, Steven Hauser and wife, Gretchen, Casey Hauser and wife, Tara, and Sarah Hauser;  step-granddaughter, Victoria Steelman; great grandchildren, Ariana, Emily, and Susanna; and his two beloved granddogs, Roscoe and Frederick.

The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8PM Friday evening at the funeral home.
